Andrea Cornel, Co-founder

Andrea Cornel is the President and Co-founder of Dig for Duke. Andrea is a Morehead-Cain Scholar at The University of North Carolina studying biology, medical anthropology, and math. Andrea is an avid curler and loves all things tea. She enjoys traveling, baking, spending time outdoors, and playing volleyball. 

When Andrea was 17 years old, she was diagnosed with metastatic thyroid cancer. She was a healthy, active person prior to her diagnosis, and little did she know that after 6 years of supporting Duke Children's Hospital, she would need them as well. Now, Andrea is cancer-free and her journey created an even deeper purpose for Dig for Duke. 

Kennedy Goodwin, Co-founder

Kennedy Goodwin is the Executive Director and Co-founder of Dig for Duke. She is a student at West Virginia University studying forensic chemistry. At school, she is a member of the recruitment for MountaineerTHON and is involved in greek life. Kennedy enjoys spending time traveling, at the lake, and exploring the mountains. 

 

Kennedy was born with Goldenhar Syndrome which affects facial features, the skeleton, and organs. She has had 24 surgeries, many of which were at Duke Children's Hospital. With this lifelong journey, she has seen the impact that Duke Children's Hospital has had on every kid that walks through the doors. 

Angelina Erhardt, President and Chief Event Officer

Angelina Erhardt is the current President and Chief Event Officer for Dig for Duke. She is a  junior at Cary Academy High School. Angelina is a starter on her Varsity volleyball team and plays club for Carolina Advantage Volleyball and Southern Sands.  She is excited to incorporate her love for volleyball into an important cause. Angelina enjoys listening to music and making art, as well as playing pickup volleyball at her local beach courts.
